M2-M16 tailless wrench
Tail-less screw bushing, also known as wire bushing without mounting shank, is a special type of wire bushing (or threaded wire bushing, silk bushing, thread sheath). The wire sleeve is mainly used to enhance and protect threaded holes, especially in soft materials (e.g. aluminium, magnesium alloys), in order to improve the thread's load-bearing capacity and abrasion resistance, and to prevent the threaded holes from wearing out or slipping teeth.
Features of tail-less threaded bushings:
1. no mounting shank design: unlike tailed bushings, tailed bushings do not have mounting shanks or breakout slots at either end, which eliminates the need to remove the mounting shank after installation, simplifying the installation process and improving efficiency.
2. Bi-directional installation: Tailless bushings have no orientation requirements and can be installed in both directions, increasing installation flexibility.
3. fast installation and removal: due to the absence of a mounting shank, the tailless screw sleeve can be installed and removed faster, reducing the number of tools used, saving time and cost.
4. High strength and durability: Tail-less screw bushings are usually made of high-strength stainless steel or other alloy materials, with good corrosion and wear resistance.
5. Conformity to standards: Tail-less screw bushings usually conform to standards such as NASM8846 and NAS1130, which ensure the quality and interchangeability of the bushings.
Installation: Installation of a Tailless Sleeve usually requires a special installation tool, which grips the grooves on each end of the sleeve or a special design that screws the sleeve into the threaded hole. During installation, the tool applies a force through the ends of the sleeve, which presses against the hole wall to form a stable threaded connection.
