The wire threaded inserts with tail has a tail handle, which can only be installed in one direction during installation. After the installation of the wire threaded sleeve with tail is completed, the tail handle of the wire threaded inserts needs to be punched off with a tail handle breaker.

Tailless threaded inserts can be installed in both directions. Tailless threaded inserts do not require shank breakout.
