Tap (Tap) A tap is a tool used for machining internal threads, usually in metallic materials. It consists of a cylindrical tool with threads and a sharp guiding part at the end.
Types of taps:
1. hand taps: used for manual operation, usually divided into two kinds of coarse and fine teeth.
2. machine taps: used for automatic machine tool processing, usually used for mass production.
3. spiral groove taps: with spiral groove design, help chip removal, suitable for deep hole machining. 4. straight groove taps: without the design of spiral groove, help chip removal, suitable for deep hole machining.
4. straight flute taps: no spiral groove, suitable for shallow hole machining.

The use of tap steps:
1. drilling: first use a suitable drill bit to drill a bottom hole.
2. Tapping: Insert the tap into the bottom hole and rotate the tap manually or with a machine tool to process the internal threads. 3. Chip removal: Reverse the tap periodically to remove chips. 4.
Plate Thread (Die) A plate thread is a tool used for machining external threads, usually on metal bars. It consists of a set of rings with threads, usually used in pairs.
Types of Mater:
1. Fixed Plate Thread: suitable for small batch production or manual operation.
2. Adjustable Plate Thread: Suitable for threading of different diameters with higher flexibility.

Steps of using the plate teeth:
1. Clamping bar: fix the bar in vise or lathe.
2. Processing threads: Set the plate teeth on the bar, manually or using a machine tool to rotate the bar, processing the external thread.
3. Apply force uniformly: Make sure that the plate teeth apply force uniformly along the axis to obtain good thread quality.
